Tun Abang Haji Openg Digital Centre

Starting as two small entities, the MIS Division and the CNS Unit operated under the umbrella of the Academic Information Service Center (CAIS) at its establishment in 1994.

In 2001, the roles of these entities were merged and named the Centre for Information and Communication Technology Services (CICTS). After 17 years in the Tun Abdul Rahman Ya'kub Library (PeTARY) building, CICTS was rebranded to CITDS by Professor Datuk Dr. Mohamad Kadim bin Suaidi, announced through the Council of Trustees Vice Chancellor in 2017. This marks another milestone in UNIMAS's history, aligning with an increased focus on ICT system development and the provision of digital services supporting teaching-learning activities, research, and commercialization.

In 2022, CITDS moved to a new building equipped with the latest infrastructure. This led to the establishment of Tun Abang Haji Openg Digital Centre at UNIMAS, commemorating Tun Abang Haji Openg's services and sacrifices, continued by his son, Yang Amat Berhormat Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg.
